Complaints, Disputes, Appeals
Any complainant may submit data and/or product samples regarding a Licensee’s certified product in substantiation of a claim of non-compliance to the applicable standard or to the requirements of the ALI SIG Certification Program. Such documentation must be of a substantial nature and in sufficient detail to enable identification of the product and justify action. Also, any interested party may submit a complaint regarding ALI’s conduct of the SIG Certification Program, along with a detailed description of the nature of the complaint. ALI must acknowledge receipt of a complaint, and record and process it as required under the relevant Sections of the ALI SIG Certification Operations Manual. Complaints are subjected to the ALI Corrective Action process as described in the ALI Inspection Requirements and Practices manual.
Any complainant, Licensee, or testing laboratory may address disputes or may appeal the decision of inspectors or evaluators in writing. A written response will be issued to the parties within the dispute, or to the appellant explaining the findings and reasons for the decisions made.
